We need your leadership and teamwork to set America on a sustainable and responsible course so our children and future generations can grow up in a cleaner, healthier, more prosperous and just world. There are at least 5 ways as shown below that you can join with us to make a lasting difference:
- Enlist in the Clean Energy Revolution by going to www.takeresponsibility.us taking and following through on the Power Pledge: a series of steps from a-z to wean us off fossil fuel, embrace renewable power, conserve energy and become efficient. By making these empowered consumer, lifestyle and civic choices we will bolster our national security and democracy, save money, improve the health of our family and the planet and do justice to our children and future generations.
- Reduce your greenhouse gas emissions at home, at work or school, in your neighborhood and with your associations (see the many carbon calculators and leadership initiatives on the world-wide-web such as www.zerofootprint.net for more information).
- Register in The Conservation Quest at www.takeresponsibility.us coming up with your own ways to save energy and water at once (all who register qualify to win the project canoe. Report back your story of creative ideas, solutions and exhibitions of conservation character to robb@takeresponsibility.us before October 1st 2009 to earn the conservation champion prize of $1,000.
- Be a leader by recruiting other caring people you know to sign up for the Power Pledge and The Conservation Quest. Send this alliance e-mail to your friends, colleagues and family members headed with your personal note encouraging their involvement in taking these challenges on-line @ www.takeresponsibility.us (Go to “Take the Power Pledge” and “Join the Conservation Quest”) and pass it on via their associates ~ e-mail lists (and so on down the digital highway);
- Make a tax deductible contribution to the Climate Change Leadership Institute (CCLI) @ www.takeresponsibility.us (Go to the “Contribute” page) in order to support the CCLI’s on-going work consisting of paid student internships along with Direct Action and Innovation seed grants to encourage young people’s involvement in the clean energy revolution, Education workshops to schools, Justice grants to help those unduly affected by human-induced climate change, and Climate Courage Awards to encourage Stewardship in business, government and civil society.
