Direct Action

The dramatic transformation required to stabilize the global climate happens as we adopt extraordinary means & methods of change-making.

Direct Action combines the powerful tactic of non-violent civil disobedience with a purposeful kind of ingenuity. When employed with foremost discipline and aligned with soul-force, Direct Action brings accountability, responsive leadership and meaningful transformation to our community, our nation and our world.

Organization

CCLI organizes and leads annual & ongoing direct action projects (see many of our direct action projects here).

Education

We develop and host Direct Action workshops/trainings with a clear focus on fostering US Climate Change Leadership.

Assistance

CCLI supports and sponsors inspiring and well organized Direct Action campaigns, promotes them on-line and evaluates their performance for future reference. Direct Action Grant Application Grant Process and Guidelines

Direct Action Grant Application

The purpose of the Direct Action Grant is both to encourage and enable organizations or individuals to effectively carry out bold and bright campaigns to advance US climate change leadership. In your application please get to the heart of the matter and answer succinctly (application length should be 2 pages or less).

Questions

  • Proposal (describe your proposed direct action campaign with attention to your objectives and means).
  • Why are you committed to this cause and capable of leading a successful direct action campaign?
  • How will you use the direct action grant funds?
  • How will you evaluate the impact of winning the grant award and the effectiveness of your direct action campaign?
  • Who are your references that can attest to your integrity and commitment (in addition to reasons for listing your references, please provide their names, numbers and email addresses)?
  • Is there anything else you want us to know about you or the merits of your proposal?

Grant Process & Guidelines

Direct Action Grants are available each year;
  • Application & nomination deadlines are always welcome and rolling annually;
  • Applicants can deliver completed applications by E-mail (to: ccli@takeresponsibility.us);
  • Grants awards will be announced every year (all applicants will be notified by email whether or not they received the award and those receiving grant awards will also be sent formal notifications by mail and have brief project descriptions posted on the website);
